History & Aromatherapy
  • The cucumber originated in India, and large genetic variety of cucumber has been observed in different parts of this beautiful country. It has been cultivated for at least 3,000 years in Western Asia, and was probably introduced to other parts of Europe by the Romans. Records of cucumber cultivation appear in France in the 9th century, England in the 14th century, and in North America by the mid-16th century. Spas frequently put cucumber slices in water, and we associate slices of cucumber with the relief of “puffy eyes.” For someone predisposed to eye puffiness, changes to diet and lifestyle (under the supervision of a physician) may be required to reduce the possibility of swelling. However, cucumber is a natural and as a sliced cucumber can provide short-term relief. Bath bombs however, will not sooth your puffy eyes, so just enjoy the relaxing scent!
