History & Aromatherapy
  • Lavender is a derivative of the Latin word lavare, which means, "to wash." It was a ritual-bathing herb in Roman times, and in the 12th century St. Hildegard von Bingen became widely known for her healing lavender water. In a nutshell, lavender is calming.
